It is extremely rugged and very simple to use, while delivering up to a full 30FPS of VGA video. It comes with a remote control and custom-designed mounting accessories.
It makes use of the common 4, 8, 16 & 32GB SD and SDHC cards, but it is also the only helmet cam on the market that is compatible with the 32GB SDHC card. This can give the user up to 64 hours of video on a single card.
A patented shock-proof battery system eliminates a common problem among other helmet cameras; the loss of power and recorded files caused by the jarring loose of the batteries. This innovation ensures that videos taken in challenging and perhaps impossible-to-repeat situations will not be lost.
And unlike other cameras which need to rely on an external waterproof case, the Tachyon XCs housing is already waterproof, allowing you to film to a depth of 8 meters (28.5 feet) and protecting the camera from the elements.

Snowdays Park – Tachyon XC Helmet Camera

We recently spent a few days in Colorado snowboarding and skiing, http://www.tachyoninc.com we got to test out a new mount that we are designing that will fit against your head and onto your goggles. Unfortunately the light wasnt very good with heavy clouds and lots of snow falling so the video is a little dark. But we had a great time and met lots of people. We will be getting some video from Park Cities by early January in better light so be ready!

Tachyon XC Helmet Camera – Trailer 3- New Goggle Side Mount-Watch in HD

This is the third trailer for the Tachyon XC helmet cam. http://www.tachyoninc.com In this video we are featuring our new “goggle side mount”. Thanks to insight and idea’s from military personnel and local firefighters we have put into production this new mount that will be available for free to existing XC customers and included in the Tachyon XC package upon completion.
The mount can either be attached to the side of a helmet with Velcro or fit over a goggle strap. The design of the mount is curved on the inside to fit comfortably against your head.
This video is our second test of the mount and was used on the goggles and strapped around the leg above a snow boot in Park City Utah.
