Do you think it’s lame to wear a helmet when you go snowboarding ?
Posted by admin on Oct 17, 2009
Well i want to wear a helmet, but no one does at the mountain where i go snowboarding !
I don’t want to seem lame ! .. when i go to the mountain with all of the guys ( no girl snowboards that i know -.- ) they never wear helmets and i don’t want to seem lame .
What do you think about wearing a helmet? is it lame or is it cool ?
Do you think that all of the guys will think i’m lame for wearing a helmet ?
Well, when you end up in the hospital for landing on your head (which you will do), you’ll wish you had been wearing your helmet, because then you’d still be riding.
I’m not trying to sound mean. I fall all of the time, but since I’m wearing a helmet, I can get up and keep going. I know a girl who was doing a simple little ground box, fell, was NOT wearing a helmet, and she got carried off the mountain in a stretcher…you want that to happen to you?? That’s probably when people will think you’re lame.
Even if people DO think it’s lame to wear helmets, who cares?? They’re for YOUR safety. And no, most guys will not care if you decide to wear a helmet…the good ones anyway. Me and my friends get guys talking to us at the mountain, and we all wear helmets. It’s all about the attitude and how hard you ride. As long as the girl can ride, the guys won’t care if she’s wearing a helmet.
Just trust me…WEAR THE HELMET! lol :] I used to think it wasn’t "cool," so I wouldn’t wear a helmet, and I’d get all mad when my parents made me. However, I will NOT snowboard now unless I have my helmet on.
Hope you make the right decision :]
Edit: Oh, and once, just riding on a basically flat green slope, I hit a patch of ice that I hadn’t seen, I fell, hit my head first, and couldn’t breathe or move for about 10 seconds…and then I couldn’t talk, I could only make sounds for a few minutes…and this was with my helmet ON! — Imagine if I had NOT had my helmet on

Is a hockey helmet usefull/safe for snowboarding?
Posted by admin on Oct 11, 2009
I have a nike bouer hockey helmet and I was wondering if I can use it for snowboarding.
yeah, sounds perfect. anything that protects your head is good, hockey helmets are made to protect against ice, so its probibly safer than a snowboarding helmet, that protects against ground/snow. Although the bars may be hard to see through, i think its a good idea! Good luck. i hope i helped. -erica

Can you buy a regular helmet when snowboarding?
Posted by admin on Sep 23, 2009
My question is, can you wear a regular helmet when youre snowboard. I want to buy one for when i skate in the summer and use it also when i snowboard. Is there any problems with doing that besides my ears freezing?
You can use a skate helmet for snowboarding. There are a few drawbacks however. Snowboard helmets are better insulated than skate helmets so your head stays warmer. The air vents in snow helmets have a mesh over them so snow doesn’t get inside. Snow helmets have goggle retainers. The adhesive that holds the Velcro to the pads and shells of skate helmets are designed for warmer temps. They may not perform as well in the cold. Some snow helmets have padded chin straps and cool audio built into the ear flaps.
